This past week, I took a group of students down section one of the Lower Saluda River. The water was low, the sun was shining, and the wildlife was active. We saw numerous turtles sunning on logs, a snake, a few fish, a heron, ducks, a raccoon, a river rat, and 3 owls.

The owls were really close!

Not quite sure what kind of snake this was that crossed the river. He let me get really close though to get these pictures.
